Jantzen Audio components are intended for use in passive loudspeaker crossovers, loudspeaker construction and DIY audio projects. Installation should be carried out by an adult with suitable technical knowledge and experience in working with electronic components.
These products are not toys. Keep all components, wires, small parts and packaging materials away from children and animals.
Before installation, disconnect the audio equipment from the mains supply and all other power sources. Make sure that the amplifier and connected devices cannot be switched on accidentally while work is being carried out.
Always use the product within the voltage, current, power and temperature limits specified by the manufacturer. Check the product markings, technical data and available datasheets before installation. Components with an incorrect rating may overheat, become damaged or cause damage to other parts of the audio system.
Inductors, resistors and other crossover components may become hot during operation. Provide adequate ventilation and maintain sufficient distance from materials that may be damaged by heat. Components should be mounted securely so that their weight and vibration do not place stress on the leads or solder joints.
Capacitors may retain an electrical charge after the equipment has been switched off. Before touching or replacing a capacitor, discharge it safely using an appropriate resistor and measuring equipment. Do not discharge a capacitor by directly short-circuiting its terminals.
When soldering, use suitable tools, eye protection and adequate ventilation. Avoid excessive heating of component leads and insulation. Cut leads and metal terminals may have sharp edges and should be handled carefully.
Do not install components that are visibly damaged, deformed, swollen, cracked, corroded or affected by moisture. Stop using the equipment immediately if you notice excessive heat, smoke, an unusual smell, discolouration or other signs of damage.
Unless otherwise stated in the product documentation, components should be used only in dry indoor environments. Protect them from water, condensation, excessive humidity, dust, chemicals, direct sunlight and temperatures outside the permitted operating range.
Air-core inductors should not be mounted with a steel screw passing through the centre of the winding, as ferromagnetic material may alter their electrical properties. When several inductors are installed close together, they should be spaced apart and positioned with their axes at different angles to reduce magnetic interaction.
Use cables with an appropriate conductor size and insulation. All electrical connections must be properly soldered, insulated and protected against accidental short circuits. Make sure that components cannot move inside the loudspeaker enclosure during transport or operation.
Do not modify, unwind, drill, crush, cut open or otherwise alter the components. Any modification may change their electrical parameters and compromise safe operation.
Dispose of damaged or unused components and packaging in accordance with local regulations. Do not burn electronic components, insulation materials or packaging.
